Feast on authentic and hearty Renaissance food. Feel free to challenge a swordsman. Take a good aim with a bow and arrow. Check out fine craft stalls. Return to the lifestyle during the golden age of the Elizabethan era.
Costumed processions will be seen in the Faire grounds three times each day. Themed booths will feature Renaissance pottery, leather purses, jewellery, belts, medallions, wooden toys, pewter goblets, feather masks, crystal wands and elegant Renaissance costumes.
Expect performers to mingle with the crowd and address them in true Renaissance flair.
Food stalls will offer meat pies, Cornish pasties, French crepes, Italian calzones, hearty ales, sweets and trifles, Greek dolmades, fine wine, fresh juices.
Kids will love the puppet shows, fun crafts workshops, storytelling, games, Fairy Garden.
The Gold Coast Renaissance Faire is patterned after the 48-year old California Renaissance Pleasure Faire. Unlike other events, the Gold Coast Faire is focused on sophisticated performances, visual arts, music, dance in a format that is entertaining and accessible. Three stages will show court dances and short plays. Essentially, it is a living theatre that welcomes visitors to join in the fun and pageantry.
The event will take place at Pratten Park, Broadbeach on October 5 to 7, 2013. It is a quick five-minute walk from our Broadbeach Holiday Accommodation.
