With its crystal clear, temperate waters teeming with diverse marine life, Queensland’s Gold Coast is one of the most rewarding places to go diving in the whole of Australia, if not the world! Here are just three fantastic diving sites to check out within easy reach of Victoria Square Broadbeach family apartments.
Nine Mile Reef
This spectacular dive site is perfect for experienced divers who want to get up close to some of our larger national marine animals. The rocky reef terrain at this 30 metre dive site is teeming with grey nurse sharks, manta rays, turtles and leopard sharks.
Kirra Reef
The beauty of diving at Kirra Reef is in seeing some of the smaller species. Drift between the kelp covered rocky outcrops admiring the Porcupine fish, moray eels and wobbys that dart out from every nook and cranny.
Palm Beach Reef
Explore rainbow coloured soft corals, sponges and large bommies at this popular dive site just 800 metres from the shore. You can expect to see blue wrasse, large schools of brightly coloured reef fish, the odd hammerhead shark or stingray and if you’re diving during the summer, maybe even leopard sharks.
Happy diving!
